I have never been a belt person.   I don’t know why, but I just never wore them, never really looked at them.  Turns out I just never gave them a chance!  I was looking for some cute accessories to wear with a dress I am making, and I saw this one for $6 at Forever 21.

I snatched it up, and the next day was looking in my closet for something to wear.  I grabbed some comfy knit pieces because I knew it was going to be hot and I was going to be chasing the little monsters around all day.

Needless to say, I was less than impressed with my outfit.  I needed accessories desperately.  I saw the belt on the dresser and decided to give it a try.  What a difference! I can’t believe how instantly it made the outfit.  I am now a belt person, I have to say.  Especially elastic band ones that you can put on top of any old shirt or dress and it makes it look so put together.  Also it makes you look skinnier by defining your waist!

(Baby J wouldn’t leave me alone for me to take the photo, but I think he makes a good addition!  Even in his diapers, he’s fabulous.)

So my money saving tip of the day: Get some cheap accessories that you don’t normally do, and see how you can transform a bland outfit into something brand new! I’m off to scour the thrift shops and bargain stores for more belts!
